Wrinkles and Vitamin C Ester - Nutritional Beauty Series

It's been called "an ingredient that can take years off your looks", and "An All-Star Antioxidant", and can "restore a smooth and youthful glow to aging skin".

What's the big deal about Vitamin C for you and your skin?

1. First, Vitamin C is an antioxidant. That means it fights your "free radicals", the rotten little molecules that damage your cells beyond repair, and therefore speed up the aging process for you.

2. Vitamin C is one of three powerful antioxidants, the others being Vitamin E and Alpha Lipoic Acid.

3. Vitamin C strengthens your white blood cells. These are your main defense against bacteria and viruses. And so this mighty vitamin boosts your immune system.

4. Vitamin C also gives you more energy. It helps in the production of important body chemicals. One of these chemicals is called L-carnitine, which is critical in producing energy. It transports fats into what are called the mitochondria, where these fats become energy.

5. Vitamin C is very important to your nervous system. It actually helps produce neurotransmitters. Neurotransmitters are the brain chemicals that assist the nerves in your central nervous system and the nerves in your peripheral nervous system communicate (the central nervous system guides your brain, while the peripheral nervous system directs your muscle movement).

Without that, you can't think clearly or move your body properly.

6. Vitamin C guards against cataract formation, heart disease, and other aging-type diseases.

7. Back to your skin -- Vitamin C is essential in producing collagen, which is that strong connective tissue that holds you together. A little minor detail (smile). You would literally "fall apart" without collagen, since it attaches your muscles to your bones, holds your skeleton together, and even keeps your organs and skin in place.

8. Vitamin C amazingly heals inflammation, that kind that is below the skin's surface that you don't even know you have, but which ages your skin rapidly.

9. A form of Vitamin C called Vitamin C Ester can be applied to the skin. It is made of L-ascorbic acid (plain Vitamin C), joined together with palmitic acid, which is a fatty acid derived from palm oil.

10. Plain Vitamin C not only doesn't absorb well into the skin, but can actually cause a dangerous type of free radical called a "hydroxyl", along with redness and irritation. But Vitamin C Ester is fat-soluble, so it can be easily absorbed into the skin, and actually fights free radicals in a wonderful way, without irritation.

11. Vitamin C Ester is also very stable. Regular L-ascorbic acid loses its potency and can't be mixed well in creams and lotions. But Vitamin C Ester can not only be mixed, but keeps its potency for months or years without turning rancid.

A miracle? Maybe not, but one top dermatologist calls it "Youth In A Jar".
